How To Connect Your Tivo Box To The Internet Or Home Network?

To enjoy seamless services on your TiVo box, you need a strong internet connection. For this, you can connect your box to the home network.

You can easily connect Series2, series3, and TiVo premiere boxes to the internet either via wired or wireless network. 

Now, we are going to discuss the steps to connect the TiVo box wirelessly through G network

Before starting with the installation, you must need to have Wireless G enabled TiVo box and network along with the adapter. You can purchase the adaptor separately from the store.

Steps:

·         Connect the TiVo wireless adapter to one of the USB port of your Box.

·         Set the adapter in an open area and open it. You need to adjust it at the proper angle in order to get the optimum performance. For more help, you can contact TiVo customer service.

·         Now pick up the remote and press the TiVo button. You will get a notification on the screen, which says, a network adapter is detected. In case, you don’t find such message, you can call at TiVo help number.

·         Click on ‘Set up network’ option given at the bottom of the page and follow on-screen instructions.

·         If you don’t receive a message, then change the wireless settings by following the below-mentioned steps:

        Go to TiVo central and click on ‘Settings and messages’. Go to ‘Network and phone’ from here.

     Tap on ‘Change network settings’ option. You will step wise instructions to configure the network adapter. Enter the network name and password if any.

The adapter link will start blinking indicates that the device is searching for network. Once you get connected, the indicator will stop blinking. If the adapter is still not connecting to the network, then you can change the position of your adapter.

Connecting TiVo box through wireless N network

Note: The steps which we are going to discuss with you are strictly for Wireless N router which is equipped with WPS button. In case, your router is not having a WPS button or you are using a B/G router, then you need to read the guidelines available on the official TiVo support link.

TiVo setup steps to setup Wireless N network on it are discussed here as follows:

1.   Switch on the Wireless N network adapter from the bottom of it. You can see the guide even on official link

2.       Place your network adapter in an Open and flat surface. You need to adjust the angle till you get the best wireless performance.

3.       With triangle facing up, you need to connect the cable splitter into the network adapter. Go to TiVo com Support link.

4.       Connect the Ethernet cable and power adapter into the splitter.

5.       Plug the power cord in the power socket and connect the Ethernet cable at the back of your TiVo box. Wait for the power signal till it gets green.

6.       Press the wireless WPS button of your router until you see the blinker start blinking.

7.       After pressing the WPS button on your router, press the WPS button of your TiVo wireless N router adapter. You will find it blinking. WPS router will automatically get sync with the adapter. For more help and support, you can call at our support number.

8.       When you find that the signal strength indicator turns green, then it means the signal strength is good and the connection has been established. For green signal, the connection speed is normally 2.4 GHz and for blue: 5 GHz.
